Today’s Gonkism:
I was asked recently to reflect on what pulls us together this time of year – what invisible glue binds friends and family during this festive season? While my mind reached and screamed ‘social pressure, tradition, and marketing’, my heart was drawn to a quieter truth: ohana.
As this season unfolds, we gather close, sharing stories, food, and quiet moments that mattered more than any gift. In that glow of togetherness, and sense of belonging we share as family – by blood or by choice – Christmas becomes less about what was under the tree and more about the love we carry for one another, wrapped tightly in the true meaning of OHANA.
