This holiday season, participate in something truly magical with a gift to Bethell Hospice Foundation’s Celebration of Light & Love Holiday campaign.
This year’s tree lighting ceremony and reception will take place at Bethell Hospice on Thursday, December 4, starting at 7:00 p.m. Guests are invited to gather at the Inglewood Community Centre and listen as the Mayfield Secondary School Jazz Studies Chorus sings a selection of holiday carols and leads the candlelit procession down the driveway to the doors of Bethell Hospice. The lights on the outdoor trees will then be turned on and the names of those remembered will be read aloud by a Bethell Hospice volunteer.
The annual Tree Lighting event brings together people from throughout the community in support of the programs and services provided by Bethell Hospice. Over $235,000 was raised during the Celebration of Light & Love last year, and more than 400 names were read aloud at the beautiful tree lighting ceremony.
Each gift, made in memory or in honour of a family member or friend, is symbolized by a light on the outdoor trees and represents memories that will live on forever. While many of those remembered are individuals whose lives were directly touched by Bethell Hospice, members of the community also take the opportunity to remember special people in their lives. Every Light & Love participant makes a real difference and helps to welcome the holiday season in a very meaningful way.
The Foundation launched this year’s campaign with a matched dollar-for-dollar gift of $30,000, donated by Luisa Santos-Mocon and Jim Mocon, and gold level sponsorship from Bartlett Tree Experts, and The Fines Family.
