The recently-formed Caledon Community Road Safety Advocacy (CCRSA) group is inviting people with road safety concerns to attend their advocacy march tomorrow (October 3rd) evening.

The group will gather at the Humber River Centre (former fire hall) at 23 Ann Street in Bolton at 5:45pm and march in advance of a Town of Caledon Traffic Safety Meeting scheduled at the same location at 6:30pm.

CCRSA’s inaugural meeting in mid-September attracted approximately 250-300 people per group spokesperson Joanna Valeriani. That meeting was called by residents following the tragic death of 23-year old Adrianna McCauley of Bolton on September 10th in a four-vehicle collision at King Street and Coleraine Drive.

CCRSA is comprised of caring residents and non-residents who feel affected by serious road safety issues and are determined to bring about positive change.

In addition to the advocacy march the group has launched a petition and are encouraging all concerned citizens to sign. The wording to the petition appears below along with a link for signatures.

Caledon Road Safety Emergency Petition

Implementation of immediate tactical solutions to address the current Road Safety Emergency in Caledon and, as feasible, within surrounding municipalities of the greater Peel Region, Dufferin-Caledon, and Vaughan. While we recognize the important work to date by our Mayor and Council, these longer term initiatives have NOT addressed the immediacy of the dangers our residents face on our roads every day due to illegal truck yards, trucking and lack of road enforcement. We, the residents of Caledon, call on Council to take immediate action and help prevent further tragedies. The time to save lives is NOW.
