Headwaters Health Care Foundation is excited to announce the launch of its Grateful Patient Program, the Heart of Headwaters. This program is designed to provide the community with a meaningful way to express appreciation for the care and services provided by Headwaters Health Care Centre. The program offers patients and their families an opportunity to support the hospital while celebrating the compassionate care received from staff, doctors, and volunteers.
The Heart of Headwaters program allows individuals to make a donation in honor of a caregiver, a department, or a specific experience that has made a positive impact. The donation is an opportunity to express gratitude while contributing to the ongoing equipment purchases which directly benefit local residents.
“Through the Grateful Patient Program, we are creating a powerful way for patients to give back to the health care professionals who have touched their lives,” said K.C. Carruthers, CEO of Headwaters Health Care Foundation. “This program strengthens the bond between the hospital and the community and ensures that the hospital continues to provide exceptional health care, close to home. Every donation makes a significant difference in the quality of care we provide to our neighbors and loved ones.” How It Works:
Patients or their family members can donate through an easy-to-use online platform or in person. Each donation will be acknowledged with a personalized tribute card sent to the honoree. Additionally, the honoree will receive a Heart of Headwaters lapel pin to proudly display on their lanyard or scrubs. The donations will go directly toward supporting the hospital’s highest priority needs.
The Grateful Patient Program is open to all patients who have experienced care at Headwaters Health Care Centre, whether recently or in the past. It provides a meaningful way to pay it forward and contributes to the continued improvement of our hospital for future generations.

The Program in Action:
David and Joyce Walker generously made a gift in honour of Dr. Grace Wang and the team of nurses in the oncology department. Their gift was a way to say thank you for the compassion and care Joyce experienced while receiving treatment. Speaking on the donation, Joyce shared “I am deeply grateful for the compassionate care I received from the oncology team at Headwaters Health Care Centre. Their unwavering support and expertise are helping me through one of the most challenging times of my life. This donation is my way of saying thank you for their dedication, and I hope it helps continue to provide exceptional care for others in need.”
