The following open letter to the Caledon community was received from the Caledon Community Road Safety Advocacy (CCRSA) Group for publication.
The Caledon Community Road Safety Advocacy (CCRSA) group directors were shocked to learn that some candidates have been making false accusations during campaigning, claiming that CCRSA directors personally benefit from Town grants and Mayor’s Gala funds that the group has received. These allegations are completely unfounded. The CCRSA is transparent about all funds received, and our financial records are open for public review.
In response, we have decided to decline the $2,500 Municipal, Agricultural and Community Grants (MACG) grant for 2026, which we have not yet received. To ensure the Caledon community directly benefits from the $5,000 received at this year’s Mayor’s Gala, we will distribute $1,250 each to four local organizations who make valuable contributions to our community:
- GOALS (the charity Adrianna supported for adults with intellectual disabilities)
- Forks of the Credit Preservation Group (to help in the residents’ advocacy related to the aggregate industry and the vast amount of truck traffic that goes with it)
- Caledon Seniors Centre (support for seniors in our community)
- Brightstart Caledon Family Centre (to support young children in our community)
Despite this disappointing situation, the CCRSA remains committed to advocating for safer roads and the elimination of illegal truck yards. Funds independently raised through our February 2026 fundraiser will support our initiative to bring driving simulators to two Caledon high schools, pending school board approval, helping young drivers develop safer driving skills. We are grateful for the continued support of our amazing community and will never stop advocating for public safety.
Let’s keep it loud, Caledon!

When residents come together to address an important issue in their community, they don’t do it because they have nothing better to do or to seek attention. They do it because they care. They give up personal time and volunteer hundreds of hours because they believe passionately in making their community safer and better.
The people who formed CCRSA came together to address serious road safety issues affecting all of us in Caledon. They’ve made real progress, often without support from their MPP or MP. They keep going because they care and want to make a difference.
At Forks of the Credit Preservation Group, we know the commitment that takes. So it’s deeply disappointing—and it should concern all of us—that during an election, as one CCRSA member stepped forward to run as a candidate and devote even more of her time to public service, false accusations have been made about the group’s financial dealings.
Enough. We stand with CCRSA, as we always have, and we’re honoured that they have chosen our group as one of the organizations they wish to support.
Thank you, CCRSA, for your hard work and dedication. Stay strong. Stay loud.
