During the month of May, Caledon residents and employees have been taking action with their dinner plates – focused on food related climate solutions like: meal planning, loving their leftovers and incorporating more plant-rich foods!
Challenge participants have been taking SMALL actions in order to make a BIG difference! For example, Citas has made several plant-rich dinners including “Eggplant Rollatini” and “YellowFin Tuna with Broccoli and Parsnips”.
Ann made a double batch of dinner so that she could use the leftovers for lunch the following day, “it was tasty, time saving and there was no food waste”.
Bob and his family are opting to eat less meat, and they are down to one serving per week – they are “enjoying meals and not missing meat”.
ecoCaledon has been encouraging participants to make small changes with their food in order to reduce their impact on the planet.
WHAT’S NEXT?
Join the EV Society of Caledon and ecoCaledon at Caledon Day to learn more about how we can ELECTRIFY CALEDON! Check out some EVs and chat with EV owners. ecoCaledon will also be sharing other actions that residents can take when it comes to getting around – changing how we choose to get around, opting for “greener” shipping options and keeping our stops “idle-free”.
Interested in test driving an EV? The Town of Caledon has recruited Plug’n Drive to offer test drives of the Chevrolet Bolt, Volvo C40 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
