COMMUNITY CONSULTATION FOR THE VILLAGE OF BOLTON HERITAGE CONSERVATION DISTRICT STUDY
You are invited to attend a community consultation meeting to discuss the Village of Bolton Heritage Conservation District Study on October 24, 2013.
What is a Heritage Conservation District Study?
In support of public interest in heritage issues, the Town has retained ERA Architects Inc. to undertake the Village of Bolton Heritage Conservation District Study (HCD Study). The HCD Study will assess the village’s cultural heritage resources and recommend whether an area(s) within the historic village core should be considered for Heritage Conservation District designation under the Ontario Heritage Act.
What is the format of the meeting?
This meeting is intended to introduce the project team, HCD Study and to get your feedback. Presentations by the project team will include a brief summary of initial research, an overview of comparable HCDs in Ontario, what HCD designation means for property owners, and a discussion of the benefits of heritage district designation. A community mapping exercise will also be conducted in order to facilitate dialogue of what you value about the Study Area. The formal presentation will begin at 7 p.m., however, the hall will be open from 6:30 pm to allow for a public review of display boards and other information.
