Caledon Winter Parking Program

Snow Storm
Written by Patti Foley

Want to get underway quickly after snowstorms? Naturally you do! Over the winter months the Town of Caledon Public Works Department wants you to help them help you.

“Snow removal is a team sport” said Town of Caledon Director of Public Works David Loveridge when we sat down last week to discuss the Town’s new Winter Parking Program.

The Program, passed by Town Council in April this year and amending the Town’s Traffic ByLaw #2011-020, means that from November to April the Director can declare a ban, prohibiting parking on Caledon roads, to facilitate snow clearing during and following snowstorms.

At first notice of approaching inclement weather the Town will issue a reminder for residents not to park on Town roads to allow “safer and more prompt and effective clean-up”.

Once a Winter Parking Ban has been issued, vehicles cannot be parked on roadways in Caledon at any time until the ban is lifted.

Loveridge and Town’s communication staff suggest a number of ways to “be in the know when it snows.”

• Winter Parking Bans will be posted to www.caledon.ca once issued
• They will also be posted to social media:
