Weather impacts in Caledon and Caledon Road Clearing Update for December 11, 2014
Environment Canada has issued a Weather Advisory for Caledon area. They are reporting that snow from a low over upstate New York continues over much of Southern Ontario. The snow will be heavy at times with 15 to 20 cm of accumulation today, with 25 to 30 cm possible in some areas particularly near the south shore of Lake Ontario. In addition, gusty north winds may cause areas of blowing snow. The snow will become lighter this evening.
Caledon Road Clearing Update – as of 1:30 p.m.
David Loveridge, Director of Public Works for the Town of Caledon, is reporting that all of the prime Town roads have been plowed a minimum of two times. Crews are now focusing on running one single pass through all secondary suburban roads. Town shifts are working maximum hours in order to clear snow. Contractors are also dealing with hotspots across the Town, particularly during shift changes.
Weather report shows the storm system will be tapering off at approximately 5 p.m. this afternoon. There will be considerable clean up to complete after that.
