Bolton Regional Councillor Good to Know

Two-lane Roundabouts coming soon to Bolton Area

Roundabouts, used in many countries for years, are circular intersections whose physical design slows traffic down, improving safety. In addition, because there are no stop lights, wait times and idling are reduced.

The first two 2-lane roundabouts in Peel Region will soon open, right here in Caledon. Located on the BAR (Bolton Arterial Route) which is scheduled to open within a few months, you will see one at King St West and the other at Hwy 50. Click HERE to view a map of the locations.

If you are not familiar with navigating a 2-lane roundabout you will find a very useful and informative video HERE

  • Fantastic news Patti! Kudos to the Region and Town – please please don’t buckle under the inevitable pressures from people who are opposed to change of any kind and/or who just have to learn how to use roundabouts. A few test runs out at the Dixie-3rd line and Olde Base Line Road would be a great help. I choose my routes to use that roundabout.
