(CALEDON, ON) – In the interest of public safety, the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is working with Canadian Pacific (CP) Police. In order to eliminate trespassers near CP equipment, rail lines and bridges, the officers have issued over 33 charges since the end of March 2013.
One of the identified high risk areas is the CP property behind Regional Road 50 in the village of Bolton.
For those who wish to ignore safety rules and continue to cross CP property, rail lines, and bridges will be charged under the Trespass to Property Act.
The Caledon Detachment of the OPP is encouraging parents to speak to their children about rail safety and the potentially fatal risks involved.
