Walking into Caledon Community Services new store, Evolve Clothing, you get the sense immediately that this store is something special. You are greeted with bright colours, modern displays, brand name clothing and even a section for on-trend items. Just Sayin’ Caledon got a behind-the-scenes look into Bolton’s much-anticipated new retail destination.
For decades, the previous store, Chez Thrift, sold a variety of women, men and children’s clothing and accessories in several locations around town. Now, the brand new 15,000 sq. ft. space has been transformed into an enticing shopping experience. Freshly painted change rooms are bright, spacious and have lots of hooks for organizing your new finds while a comfy “waiting area” has been set up for friends and family who need to take a break from all of the “thrill of the find” excitement.
New clothing tags are easier to read and promote a “wow, really?” reaction to the pricing. Store staff have diligently researched, over the last few months, and say their prices will be comparable to similar stores in the area. Volunteers will play a huge role in the day-to-day operations including pricing, sorting and merchandising the masses of gently-used and new goods that are donated.
The donation area has also been transformed. Although still under construction, the new drive-through donation area will be covered with an awning and volunteers will be at the ready to help unload your vehicle. In the meantime, donations can be dropped off at Evolve Lifestyle, formerly The ReUstore, across the street.
The much anticipated grand opening will take place on Friday, May 5th, with the official ceremonies at 2 p.m. Evolve Clothing is encouraging students to drop by later in the day from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for discounts, giveaways and a live band. A family celebration with children’s activities will take place the morning of May 6th.
