Caledon Parks and Recreation skating program launches “Tim Horton Kid Zones”
The generous support of Tim Horton’s in Bolton has helped Caledon’s parks and recreation department provide skate aids to help preschool-age children feel comfortable on the ice. The Bolton donation added 40 skate aids to the town’s inventory.
“Across the country, Tim Horton’s plays a key role in countless community events,” said Brad Stafford, franchise owner. “And, personally, Liz and I are proud to be able to help Caledon’s preschoolers learn this quintessential Canadian sport.”
As well, this partnership with the Bolton Tim Horton’s has made it possible to launch the Tim Horton Kid Zones for young skaters at all of the public skate sessions in the four town arenas. The Kid Zone is a sectioned-off area of the rinks where young skaters can feel comfortable learning skills in an interactive, fun environment.
“As this community continues to grow, and the need for community-based recreational programming rises, partnerships like this become even more valuable,” said Mayor Marolyn Morrison. “We are thankful to Brad and Liz, and Tim Horton’s, for their support and help in meeting a need in our community, and we will continue exploring opportunities to work with our business community in delivering even more services.”
