Seniors Month at Caledon Public Library

This June is the 32nd anniversary of Seniors Month in Ontario, when we celebrate and recognize the contributions seniors make to Ontario’s communities. Of course, Caledon Public Library celebrates seniors all year ’round, but is particularly pleased to offer the following events throughout the month of June:


June 1 | 7 – 8:30 pm | Alton Branch | Free | Drop-in
Special Guest Max Layton will read some of his poems and will reveal
tricks of the trade.
Bring your own poems to share.


To attend any of these FREE programs, participants must have basic knowledge of mouse and keyboarding usage and have an email account. Advance registration is required.

Fun with Facebook
June 2 | 10:30 am – 12 noon | AB Branch
Sign up to learn the basics of Facebook. You’ll learn how to create an account and how to properly use this popular social media tool to keep in touch with family and friends.

Connect with Skype
June 16 | 10:30 am – 12 noon | AB Branch
This workshop will introduce you to Skype: you will be able to create a personal Skype account and learn about its free messaging service and video call features.

Shine with Instagram
June 21 | 10:30 am – 12 noon | AB Branch
Get creative and discover this mobile photo/video sharing and social networking platform. Learn how to add filters and share our photos. Bring your own smartphone or tablet.


June 9 | 12 noon – 2:30 pm | Caledon Community Complex, Caledon East
In partnership with Caledon Meals on Wheels and Town of Caledon Parks and Recreation, this Bar-B-Q style luncheon will feature entertainment by Dan Champagne. Bring your dancin’ shoes! $10 per person at door. Register to attend by calling the library at 905-857-1400.

In partnership with Caledon Heritage Committee. Organize a team of four or let us connect you with a team. All levels of expertise are welcome. This is going to be a fun night celebrating our community – please join us. And did we mention it’s taking place in a pub?

Learn the basics of how to use the Ancestry Library Edition database through a hands-on genealogy workshop. Explore your roots and discover your history.
