Albion Hills Community Farm Celebrates United Nations World Environment Day with Guest Speaker Sarah Elton
By Melanie Williams
Caledon, ON – On Wednesday June 5, 2013, Albion Hills Community Farm celebrates the United Nation’s World Environment Day by hosting its Annual General Meeting with guest speaker and best selling Canadian author Sarah Elton, on her new book “Consumed: Food for a Finite Planet”.
“Albion Hills Community Farm has pledged to participate in the United Nation’s campaign ‘Greening the Blue’. Its message to reduce your footprint reflects the farm’s vision of supporting the local food system and building community spaces for growing food.” ~Barb Imrie, President, Albion Hills Community Farm
In Consumed Sarah Elton reports on the efforts of people in cities and on farms around the world, who are putting together a new way of feeding the world that is resilient to the inevitable shocks of climate change. Elton tells the untold stories of this massive but little known global social movement that is changing all aspects of food.
