The Region of Peel announced today that Patricia Caza has been appointed Regional Solicitor and Director of Legal Services. In this role, reporting to the CFO and Commissioner of Corporate Services, Patricia will be responsible for leading and overseeing all business functions of the Region’s Legal Services and Procurement Divisions, as well as providing legal advice and guidance to Regional Council, senior leaders, and Regional staff in the administration of municipal programs and services.
Patricia joined the Region in 2001 as Legal Counsel, bringing to the position two decades of Regional legal experience. She has since held a series of progressively responsible senior positions, including Senior Legal Counsel, Director of Procurement and Deputy Regional Solicitor. Prior to joining the Region, Patricia worked with a law firm in private practice for 9 years.
In addition to her leadership roles with the Region, Patricia currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Peel Housing Corporation and previously served as Vice-Chair of the Board from 2018 to 2020.
A respected member of the Legal community, Patricia was called to the Bar in 1992 and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Municipal Law Departments Association of Ontario, and the International Municipal Lawyers Association.
