Rebate Program Winding Down

Last Chance to Participate in Peel’s Toilet and Humidifier Programs

Residents and businesses in Peel have less than six months to participate in the Region’s Toilet and Humidifier Replacement Programs.

These programs will end as of Sept. 1, 2013. All eligible rebate applications for toilets and humidifiers purchased before Sept. 1, 2013, will be accepted until Dec. 1, 2013.

“We want to remind residents that our water efficiency rebate programs are ending,” says Shaun Hewitt, Director of Operations Support. “and thank everyone who has participated in the program. Our combined efforts have had a significant impact on water use reduction in the Region.”

Water-focused legislation and higher efficiency standards for fixtures, such as WaterSense are the main drivers behind the changing retail market. Increased availability and lower cost of water efficient toilets have made water efficient practices more affordable for Peel residents and business.
