Policies for drive-throughs being considered

This Wednesday May 19th the Town of Caledon Council will be holding a Public Information Meeting to consider the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments pertaining to Drive-through facilities.

The draft Official Plan Amendment (OPA 204) proposes to introduce policies in the Town of Caledon Official Plan related to Drive-through facilities. The associated amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning By-law, 2006-50 as amended, proposes to implement the proposed policy provisions of the Official Plan including the establishment of a 90 metre setback requirement for new Drive-through facilities from a residential zone or a lot containing a residential use.

At the meeting members of the public will have the opportunity to learn about the proposed amendments to the Official Plan and Zoning By-law and ask questions of staff. Please note that Council will not be making a decision to adopt these draft amendments at the May 19, 2010 Public Information Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is solely to receive public comments.

The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. – Council Chambers, Town Hall – 6311 Old Church Road, Caledon East
