Peel Cares Celebration on International Volunteer Day

Written by Patti Foley

Volunteer MBC invites the Peel region community to celebrate International Volunteer Day (IVD) at their Peel Cares celebration on December 5, 2018.

International Volunteer Day celebrates the efforts of those who have made an important contribution to society through service to others. And, as part of Volunteer MBC’s 10th anniversary celebrations, we are privileged to launch a 2018 Volunteer of the Year award, one for each municipality in Peel.

This exceptional opportunity will come once a year in December on International Volunteer Day for Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon. The Volunteer of the Year award is an exclusive benefit for Volunteer MBC’s member community service organizations to nominate one of their exemplary volunteers, who has made a significant contribution towards community development in the year.

Guests at Volunteer MBC’s Peel Cares celebration will enjoy refreshments, hors d’oeuvres, and a delectable desert & candy table. A silent auction will also be held that will include a variety of gifts available for purchase with proceeds supporting Volunteer MBC’s programs and services, notably ‘Ovation’. Port Credit musician Robert Long will provide ‘piano stylings’ during the reception.

Residents of the cities of Mississauga and Brampton, the Town of Caledon, as well as members of the media, are invited to attend Volunteer MBC’s Peel Cares Celebration.
