Parks & Rec offering Oodles to do on Family Day!

Next Monday, February 18th is Family Day and it is a great opportunity to get active with your family! The Town of Caledon’s Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite you and your family to join us for free activities at your local recreation centres. We are offering a wide variety of activities from snowshoeing to rock climbing – there is something for everyone.

Here’s a list of some of the exciting activities planned:

Albion Bolton Community Centre will hold a public skate from10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and again from1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Lots of activities will be happening at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness; in the gym, there will be Parent and Tot (under 5 years) activities from10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; Soccer Kicks (6 to 12 with an adult) from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.; the popular Energy Blasters program (6 to 8 with an adult) will run from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.; and the Basketball Drop-in (all ages) will operate from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Youth Centre will have open activities from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. including the rockwall, billiards, our Youth Lounge, free time on the Preschool Equipment and so on. The rockwall will be operating from11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Our aquatics team at CCRW will host kinderswim from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and public swims from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., 3:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Our outdoor rinks will be open, weather permitting, from10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

TheCaledon Central Pool will host a public Swim from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Our Caledon Community Complex will have a snowshoeing program from 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., there will be Zumba for Kids from10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and public skates from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and again from 3:00 p.m. –to 5:00 p.m.

Finally, but not less exciting, the Mayfield Recreation Complex will have the Just Try it – Dance for Kids program from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. as well as a public skate from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and a public swim from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

There is so much to do in the Town of Caledon and I hope you take advantage of Family Day going out and enjoying all our community has to offer. Have a fun-filled Family Day on Monday February 18th and get engaged, be involved and stay active.
