OPP announce that victim in Bolton assault has succumbed to injuries

Victim Succumbs to Injuries, Additional Charge Laid

 An assault investigation in Bolton has resulted in an additional charge after the victim succumbed to their injuries.

On Monday, August 24, 2026, shortly after 8:00 p.m., members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault outside a business near the intersection of King Street West and Queen Street North in Bolton. The victim, identified as 54-year-old Oleksandr GRABYN of Bolton, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and pronounced deceased on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

On August 24, 2026, police laid charges in relation to this investigation.

On Monday, August 31, 2026, Oleh MILCHENKO, 32 years old from Etobicoke, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, contrary to section 236(b) of the Criminal Code.

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

The Caledon OPP Crime Unit is conducting the investigation, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services.
