Open House: Idling Control and Fill By-laws

You are invited to attend an Open House to be held by the Council for the Corporation of the Town of Caledon to consider the General Provisions of the proposed Idling Control By-law. Your attendance and comments at this meeting are welcome as it is your opportunity to learn more about the proposed by-law and express any opinions that you may have.

Proposal #1: Idling Control

The General Provisions of the proposed Idling Control by-law prohibits vehicles from idling for more than 2 minutes with a 60 minute period and creates exemptions for certain situations. Proposal #2 Fill

The General Provisions of the proposed amendments to the Fill by-law includes:

The implementation of a Fill Permit Review Committee to support the permit process
Limited allowance for applications which are non-agricultural
Increased documentation and security deposits
Enhanced regulatory monitoring of ongoing fill operations
Commercial Fill Operations not to be approved through this by-law

Notification

If you wish to be notified of the adoption of the proposed Idling Control by-law you must make a written request to the Town of Caledon, Administration Department, 6311 Old Church Road, Caledon, Ontario L7C 1J6 or by e-mail at agenda@caledon.ca.

If a person, company or public body does not make oral submissions at an open house or make written submissions to the Town of Caledon before the by-law is passed, the person, company or public body is not entitled to any further notice regarding the proceedings.
