Mayor Allan Thompson and Council are pleased to announce Mike Galloway as the Town of Caledon’s new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), to begin in January 2016.

“Mike has a wealth of municipal experience and knowledge; he brings a fresh, forward-thinking leadership style to this role. Council is excited to work with him on advancing Caledon’s priorities and setting the stage for the future,” said Mayor Allan Thompson. “I’m confident that he is just what we need and welcome Mike to his new role.”

“I am looking forward to working with Caledon’s progressive council and staff. The next decade is going to be some of the most important years for the community and its future,” said Galloway. “I was drawn to this role based on the direction the Town is taking, and I’m looking forward to working with administration to support the Mayor and Council.”

Mike has close to twenty years of leadership experience within municipal organizations in Ontario. He currently serves as CAO for one of Canada’s premier destinations, the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, a position he has held since 2010. Under his leadership, Niagara-on-the-Lake has sustained a healthy, vibrant local economy while developing a fiscally responsible public service. Over the past few years, he has also been a key member of the Region of Niagara – Metrolinx/GO Leadership Team that is bringing GO Train service to Niagara.

Mr. Galloway is an instructor with the Executive Diploma in Municipal Management program and served fifteen years on the board of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) in numerous capacities, including Treasurer and Vice-President. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, along with designations: Certified Municipal Officer (CMO) and Certified Municipal Manager III.
