Food that is fresh and nutritious is often difficult to find when you are on the go; unless you’ve made a stop to Bolton’s Naked Café. If you are looking to improve your overall health, while still enjoying delicious food, this holistic café is a must-visit.
No matter what time you get up (usually late for this non-morning blogger), Naked Café offers all day breakfast. Choose from items like the Naked Egg/Ham Pocket ($4.50) or the Naked Scramblette ($5.95); it’s their version of a breakfast pita and scrambled eggs. All eggs and meat used are sourced locally. The Fresh Fruit Yogurt is a perfect morning snack (insider tip: ask if they’ll put a sprinkle of cinnamon and a dash of maple syrup. Yum!).
Most lunch items are under $10 and perfect for a quick and healthy meal. The daily rotated salads ($7.00 large) are a must try such as the Mediterranean Quinoa or Curried Rice. If you are looking for a hot lunch, try the 3 Cheese Grilled Cheese ($6.00) packed with gooey organic old cheddar, swiss and mozzarella cheeses or the locally-famous Pear and Pesto Pizza ($8.50).
Thirsty? Naked Café offers delicious and refreshing smoothies that are made with real fruit and packed with nutrients. The Energy Smoothie ($6.00 24 oz) is simply made with bananas, strawberries, pineapple, greens and flax and is the perfect drink before a workout. Also choose from a large section of fair trade/organic coffees and tea or freshly squeezed juices.
Sweet tooth suffers rejoice! Pick up a delicious Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie ($2.50) for an afternoon snack. Choose from a large selection of nanimo bars, muffins, oatcakes and butter tarts. Desserts are baked on the premises and are available in gluten free, dairy free and some vegan options.
Owned by registered holistic nutritionist Svetlana Fetterly, Naked Café can be found tucked between Jiffy Lube and Pizza Nova at 256 Queen Street in Bolton.
