Love Your Library Month!

Written by Patti Foley

This October, Caledon Public Library will celebrate our 17th annual Love Your Library month. A time to remind the community of all the treasures that await you once you open the door to your community library. The official proclamation took place at the Town of Caledon Council meeting on September 29th. On October 1st library staff will be at Town of Caledon Municipal Offices at noon for the kick-off and cake cutting ceremony. Also to kick–off the month on October 1st, CPL will host two author visits! In the afternoon, at 1pm, our Alton branch will welcome award-winning children’s author and illustrator Kevin Sylvester. Kevin will be reading from his Blue Spruce nominated picture book, Splinters, and sharing tips on cartooning. In the evening, award-winning author Jennifer Klinec will be at the Albion Bolton Branch at 7 pm speaking about her most recent book, The Temporary Bride. This inspiring book is a soaring story of being loved, being fed and the struggle to belong in one of the most complex and fascinating nations on earth – Iran.

The celebrations will then continue throughout the month with special events planned at all 7 branches for all ages. Here are the highlights and additional information is available on our website:
