Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) will honour Remembrance Day virtually this year with a new Stories of Service and Sacrifice virtual exhibition and an accompanying learning resource. We also welcome two special guests for a discussion on war, Remembrance and comics.
Stories of Service and Sacrifice
Launching: Nov. 9
Canadians have defended freedom in every major conflict since 1900. These are just some of the stories of the local men and women who served on the front lines, and their friends and family who served at home.

PAMA Virtual Lunch and Learn: War, Remembrance and Comics
Nov. 10, 12 – 1 p.m.
Join PAMA, Matthew Wilkinson from Heritage Mississauga and artist Daniel Wong for a look at Remembrance, war and comics.
In partnership with Spent Pencils, Heritage Mississauga produces a heritage-themed comic book each year that celebrates the stories of Mississauga. Matthew Wilkinson will discuss the Mississauga Remembers research program at Heritage Mississauga, recent historical discoveries and local connections. Discover how stories of service are researched and created into comics that can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.
Daniel Wong has been the artist creating the comics since the project began in 2013. Learn from Daniel how he conceptualizes a story into a visual narrative.
