Officers from the Caledon detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be hosting the annual Youth Leadership Program from Tuesday, August 2, 2016 to Friday, August 5, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.

During this time, students will be provided the opportunity to engage in a variety of community activities while interacting with Caledon OPP officers and fellow students.

All applicants interested in applying to the program must be students currently enrolled from grades 9 to 12, display a strong work ethic, be a team player, and possess a desire to contribute to their community in a meaningful way.

Applicants will be required to submit an OPP permission form signed by their parent/guardian along with a brief essay (approximately 250 to 500 words) written by the applicant. The essay should outline reasons for the applicant’s interest and identify what the applicant has to offer to the program. OPP permission forms are available at the front desk of the Caledon OPP detachment and at Caledon secondary schools. Please return the permission form and essay attached to the Caledon OPP detachment to the attention of Provincial Constable Tamara Schubert no later than June 1, 2016.

Successful applicants will earn a sense of satisfaction from being able to give back to their community and attain 40 hours of community work as a part of their requirement for successful completion from high school.
