Announcing a CrossCurrents Caledon double bill:
Manuel Boado has already captivated us with his Latin repertoire on two occasions. This is the first time he will own half the evening. This is what he will do, in his own words:
“I’m preparing a repertoire that will include, Sevillana, tango flamenco (gypsy) from Spain, plus music from Bolivia, Peru, Mexico, Brazil and Cuba. So we are going to have a variety of rhythms and styles.”
His voice is great. So is his guitar. And he sings with the emotionality that Latin demands.
Frank Adriano played our very first gig last spring. He’s a rock-solid jazz guitarist who always has strong musicians to perform with. He surprised us with Tausha. She sang with energy, flair and maturity that blew us away. Can’t wait to see them again.
After a hard week’s work, you can kick back in front of the tube. Or you can come out to CrossCurrents and get your battery recharged!”
