Bolton Regional Councillor Good to Know

Kickin’ for Community

Written by Patti Foley

On Sunday June 24th I was an honoured guest of Bolton’s Can-Tai Kungfu. The occasion was their first annual Kick-a-Thon charity fundraiser. These energetic youth and their welcoming parents put on a great show and succeeded in raising $1500 in the process. Prior to the participants performing hundreds of kicks for their audience we were treated to a heart-thumping, fabulously colourful Lion Dance – and these young dancers were amazing!

This year’s fund recipients will be Caledon Community Services and Brampton Civic Hospital’s Oncology Wing.

To Head Instructor Steven George and his talented students I extend a sincere thank you for a wonderful afternoon and congratulations on a terrific new tradition for Can-Tai Kungfu!
