Hwy 50 Pedestrian Bridge Installation

BOLTON COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENTS – HWY 50 PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE INSTALLATION

The new pedestrian bridge will be installed on September 29, 2012. It will be parallel with the existing road bridge over the Humber River.

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in both directions for most of the day. For approximately one hour, the bridge will be reduced to a single lane as the new bridge is installed. During this time, a police officer will control northbound and southbound traffic over the bridge. The southbound curb lane along the Highway 50 bridge will remain closed until November 19, 2012.

There will be temporary closures of the sidewalk on the west side of the road bridge on Highway 50 and the asphalt underpass leading from the west side to the east side.
The pedestrian bridge was built off-site to limit the duration and traffic impacts of the installation.

All construction work is being undertaken to ensure public safety at all times and a police officer will be onsite to direct traffic.
