Hike for Bethell Hospice Goes Sunday, May 7 in Inglewood

Lace up your shoes and get ready for this year’s Hike for Bethell Hospice on Sunday, May 7.  Held each spring during national Hospice & Palliative Care Week, the hike is an important event for Bethell Hospice Foundation, raising awareness and funds for hospice palliative care in our community. The Foundation hopes to raise $130,000 through this year’s hike.

In response to last year’s success, the 2017 Hike for Bethell Hospice has been amalgamated into one huge event at a new, larger location – Lloyd Wilson Centennial Arena in Inglewood.  Participants will hike the same beautiful route as last year’s hike in Inglewood, but will enjoy a larger gathering space and more parking.

The event features a balloon ceremony at 10:00 a.m., an accessible five kilometre hike along the Caledon Trailway, and a barbecue expertly prepared by the Caledon Lions Club.  Registration is $25 and hikers are encouraged to gather pledges of support, and post inspirational message and photos on the memory board.  Registration includes lunch and a limited edition hike t-shirt, and is fully tax receiptable.  To register for the hike, or to donate to a hiker, go to foundation.bethellhospice.org.  On site registrations are also accepted at Lloyd Wilson Arena on the morning of the hike, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Hike for Bethell Hospice is proudly presented by Meadowvale Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centres and The Simple Alternative Funeral Centres – Mississauga.  The hike is also generously supported by our Platinum Level Community Partners Brampton Brick, Cavalier Transportation Services and Scotiabank, as well as a host of Gold, Silver, Bronze and Route Sponsors.

All proceeds from the hike benefit Bethell Hospice Foundation.  Bethell Hospice is the only residential hospice serving Caledon, Brampton, Dufferin County and West Woodbridge.  Bethell Hospice also provides Community Programs throughout Caledon and Brampton.
