In 2015, the Province of Ontario will begin a coordinated review of:

Greenbelt Plan (2005)
Niagara Escarpment Plan (2005)
Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan (2001)

In 2016, the Province will begin a review of:

Places to Grow: Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (2006)

These provincial plans contain policies which affect land use planning and development approvals in the Town of Caledon.

The purpose of the review is to assess the effectiveness and relevance of the policies, and make amendments, if appropriate, to update or include new information to improve the effectiveness and relevance of the policies.

A website has been created so Caledon residents, businesses and landowners can learn more about each of the provincial plans being reviewed, and to identify opportunities and needs for improvements to the plans. The input provided will be used by the Town to prepare a formal response to the province in 2014.

The Town of Caledon invites you to visit our Provincial Plan Review page to learn more and to provide input.

Also of interest perhaps…….

Next door in King Township an evening of discussion regarding the review of these critical land use plans is being hosted on April 9th featuring Ontario’s Environmental Commissioner Gord Miller. Visit www.cckt.ca to learn more and to register to attend.
