To comply with physical distancing and gathering restrictions, there will be no public fireworks displays for Victoria Day (May 24, 2021).
The Town strictly prohibits setting off fireworks on public property, parkland, parks, roads or sidewalks and all designated outdoor spaces.
Fireworks can only be set off on private property on Victoria Day (May 24, 2021). Residents are reminded to keep within the limitations imposed by the Provincial Order on gatherings; Indoor and outdoor organized public events and social gatherings are not allowed, except with members of the same household (the people you live with).
Discharging fireworks on any other day is in contravention of the by-law and is subject to a fine.
Provincial regulations allow certain businesses to open for in-person shopping for essentials items only. Fireworks are not on the Provincial essential items list, however, we do recognize some retailers may offer fireworks to residents to purchase by curb side pick-up or home delivery.
Retailers can only sell fireworks during the ten (10) days prior to Victoria Day, starting May 14. Cost of the permit is $183.00, Non-Refundable. All retailers MUST purchase a permit.
Caledon Town Hall and Fire & Emergency Services headquarters remain closed for in-person appointments. Download and complete the Vendor Permit – email the permit and all necessary documentation to email@example.com.
Fire Prevention staff will be conducting fire safety inspections to verify compliance with the Fireworks By-law and any other federal and provincial regulations.
