Bolton Regional Councillor Good to Know

Fay McCrea receives Heritage Caledon Award of Excellence.

In recognition of her many years of heritage advocacy and the collection of local history, Caledon resident Fay McCrea was the 2014 recipient of the Heritage Caledon Award of Excellence. The award was presented by Mayor Morrison at Heritage Caledon’s annual designated heritage property owner’s Soiree held at the Brampton Flight Centre on June 17, 2014.

As a long-standing volunteer with Caledon Village Heritage and Heritage Caledon, and most recently the Caledon Heritage Foundation, Fay’s energy and passion for heritage matters have been invaluable in promoting local heritage conservation and awareness.

Heritage Caledon established the ‘Award of Excellence’ in 2011 to recognize individuals or organizations that have made a significant contribution to heritage conservation and stewardship in the Town of Caledon.

Additionally, at the June 17 event, the Mayor presented appreciation awards to Bolton residents Greg Pannia and Gary Boiago in recognition of their individual contributions to the preservation of community history. Greg has shared with the Town his collection of 10 glass plate negatives depicting Bolton circa 1910. Gary’s donation of paper fragments discovered during a demolition project has resulted in the Town’s conservation of a previously unknown 1854 map of Bolton.
