Bolton Regional Councillor Caledon Election News Flash

Down for the Count?

Nope!

As you’re probably aware a narrow win for the Bolton (ward 5) Area Councillor seat had resulted in a request for a recount. On Election Day Rob Mezzapelli had won by 9 votes over Kevin Junor. This afternoon the recount took place and Rob is still the victor, actually gaining one vote with the official recount numbers showing him at 1920 votes and Kevin at 1910.

The recount results can be viewed at http://www.caledon.ca/contentc/townhall/departments/administration/RecountResults.pdf

The Town of Caledon Inaugural takes place on Dec 7th and the Region of Peel Inaugural on Dec 9th. Rob and I look foward to 4 years of serving our community.

  • Well as a Bolton resident I’m delighted to finally see the end of the “Pain” & Groves term. I honestly believe that Bolton is once again represented by fair, decent, respectable and visionary people.

One other small detail I’d like to add is that the voter turn out for this municipal/regional election increased by 12%. That is a significant increase and a very clear message to the rest of Caledon about what Bolton wants and needs.

Congratulations to Ward 5…..because they are the real winners in this election!

  • Thanks for keeping me in the loop – I was curious about what a recount would do when we were using the tabulator system. Congrats (again) to Rob!
