Town Council approves and ratifies agreement with CUPE Local 966

The Town of Caledon and Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 966 staff have ratified a four-year collective agreement.

The agreement, effective April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2019, includes a 1.5% wage increase in each of the years of the contract. Other minor changes to working conditions were also negotiated, creating a new contract that is fair for the employees, reasonable and affordable for the municipality and its residents, and aligns with other comparable unionized CUPE settlements.

CUPE Local 966 represents approximately 70 outside staff in roads and fleet, arena and facility operations, and parks maintenance.
