Committee opportunity – developing appropriate housing for seniors in Peel

The Peel Advisory Working Group on Older Adults’ Housing (PAWGOAH) is a community-based group established in 2001 by Peel Regional Council. The membership, of more than 20 members, includes older adult citizens, private sector organizations that focus on older adult housing, government (federal, provincial, regional and area municipalities) and other affiliations.

The goal of the Advisory Working Group is to develop and promote ways of meeting current and future needs for appropriate affordable rental and ownership housing for older adults in Peel Region. The group reports directly to Peel Regional Council.

For the new term that starts in 2011, PAWGOAH seeks two new members to complement the knowledge and expertise of the existing Working Group members. For more information and to apply go to http://www.peelregion.ca/housing/provider/advisory/membership/pawg-volunteer-op.htm

  • I’m assuming that the new Caledon East Abbeyfield organization is part of this group? Hope so. It is surprising to me that Abbeyfield is not already full of residents.
