As a Caledon Councillor member of the TRCA Humber Watershed Alliance committee I am pleased to share the following information…..
Together for Clean Water Event
Earth Rangers is conducting a three-part education, awareness and action project focused on Great Lakes biodiversity and the threats facing these waters. Through a series of articles published on our popular Wild Wire blog, an interactive and engaging live show being delivered weekly in the Earth Rangers Studio at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), and a culminating event in June we are highlighting a variety of important issues facing the Great Lakes.
Both our online community and ROM show are leading up to our “Together for Clean Water” culminating event taking place on June 2nd, near the Earth Rangers Centre on the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s (TRCA) Kortright property. Aimed at encouraging sustainable practices, event activities, such as invasive species removal, planting of native species and clean-up, are being done in collaboration with the TRCA and centre on the Humber River watershed.
As the largest watershed in the Toronto area, it is important to engage community members in projects that educate them, while helping to protect the numerous species of plants, fish and animals that live in this waterway.
