Bolton Bookstore and Local Authors Join Nationwide Celebration of Independent Bookstores
Forster’s Book Garden is pleased to announce that on Saturday, April 29th, 2017, authors, Kate Hilton, Kerry Clare, Jennifer Robson, Karma Brown, Rebecca Rosenblum, Bob Desaultes, Peter G Reynolds and Mary Scattergood will volunteer as guest booksellers at Forster’s Book Garden 266 Queen St. South in Bolton, to celebrate Canadian Authors for Indies Day.
Authors for Indies Day is a nationwide event organized by authors to show appreciation for indie bookstores. Authors for Indies endeavours to: increase customer traffic for the store, showcase local writers, and strengthen relationships between authors and booksellers. Authors will volunteer as guest booksellers to greet customers, recommend books, and highlight the importance of supporting independent bookshops (“indies”) in our communities. So far, more than 500 authors and 100 bookstores across the country have signed up to participate.
The staff at Forster’s Book Garden is excited to build on the tremendous success of last year’s event. Activities planned for April 29 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the store include:
Free Refreshments, Draw prizes from local businesses: Noble Toyz, Rovili Pet World, Black Tie Gifts and Good Health Oseopathy.
Lots of great Book Talk, Meet great authors. Great for aspiring authors. Get writing/publishing advice from them. Ask ‘em anything. What do bestselling authors read? How does one stay on task during the writing process? How does one avoid distractions when you’re on a really great writing roll? (see? Any and all questions answered).
