Canadian Tire gets a Thumbs Up for Hydrogen

Canadian Tire’s recent development application amendment has been given a thumbs up for their distribution centre on Coleraine Drive in Bolton.

As is standard process, Canadian Tire’s application was reviewed by Town professionals and external industry experts/regulatory bodies, including Caledon Fire and Building Services. Independent of the site plan application, the Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) has reviewed the hydrogen system, and has accepted the design as part of their phased approval process.

TSSA is the regulatory body for all distribution, storage and dispensing of fuel, and is the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for the Fuels Safety Program. Hydrogen, along with other fuels, falls under this program.

For more information on the TSSA process, contact Oscar Alonso at 416.734.3353 and/or Brigid Gillis 416.734.3442, Professional Engineers in the TSSA Fuels Safety Program.

Fact sheets, Q&As and an education video are posted at caledon.ca/canadiantire
