Just Sayin’ Caledon recently connected with Stan Cameron, Caledon’s Peel District School Board Trustee, and received the following update regarding the replacement Caledon East Public School. The new K-Grade 8 elementary school is expected to accommodate 650 pupil spaces, along with three daycare rooms – infant care, toddler and pre-school – with a total of 73 licensed child care spaces.
Stan said “The estimated student occupancy date for the replacement Caledon East P.S. is September 2026.
The architect for the project, who represents the PDSB, is presently consulting with the Town of Caledon and the Region of Peel regarding Site Plan Approval (SPA). Once SPA has been finalized, Board staff will apply for a Building Permit.
The Board is required to submit a Cost Consultant Report along with a Request for Approval to Proceed to the Ministry before putting the project out to tender.
It is estimated that construction of the replacement school will begin in the first quarter of 2024.”
