Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual following an assault investigation. Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to come forward.
On Monday, August 24, 2026, shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault outside a business near the intersection of King Street West and Queen Street North in Bolton. Upon arrival, officers located the victim and, through the initial stages of the investigation, identified and arrested a suspect. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.
As a result of the investigation, a 32 year-old from Etobicoke, was charged with aggravated assault, contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code.
The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
