(CALEDON, ON) – In preparation for our 2014 Business Plan, Interim Inspector Dom Beckett is pleased to announce that the Detachment staff will be hosting Community Consultation Meetings in the first part of 2014. Regular police dialogue with the community is a proven way to build relationships of trust, reduce fear of crime, and mobilize community members to address concerns about safety and security.
The purpose of the consultations is to identify community-based concerns, seek common solutions, identify who has a role in the solution, implement a plan to address the concern, and provide a mechanism for feedback on how well the plan worked.
One of the major objectives of community policing efforts is to establish an active partnership between the police and the community that can analyze problems and help implement solutions and services that are truly community-based.
The four scheduled meetings will be held at the following locations:
January 14th, 2014 at 7 pm – Caledon – OPP Detachment office located at 15924 Innis Lake Road, Caledon
