Caledon Community Services Announces Appointment of New CEO

Submitted to Just Sayin' Caledon

Caledon Community Services’ board has been busy over the past months recruiting a CEO to build on CCS’s impressive accomplishments. After much consultation with staff, partners, and the community, it is with great pleasure that we announce the new Chief Executive Officer of Caledon Community Services: Geraldine Aguiar.

After a comprehensive search, the Board of Directors has selected Geraldine to lead the organization in delivering excellence in services, and to champion and lead the organization through the next stage of growth.

“Geraldine stood out in a strong field of exceptional candidates. We are excited to move forward with her; finding opportunities for our community, the residents, staff, volunteers and supporters in light of the multitude of increasing challenges we’ll face in the years to come,” says Wanda Buote, Board Chair, CCS. “With her leadership and the senior team in place, this appointment ensures CCS will continue to serve the most vulnerable in an engaged, compassionate and comprehensive way.”

Geraldine has 10+ years of experience at Caledon Community Services as the Director, Health Services, the largest division at CCS. She has demonstrated both excellence in leadership, and understanding of all divisions’ needs and a firm commitment to the vision and mission of CCS, to improve the lives of all those they serve. “These are unprecedented times. Change and transformation are constant challenges. I’m thrilled to be chosen to lead CCS 2.0 into the future, addressing the community needs along with stellar colleagues and staff so that together we emerge stronger than ever,” says Geraldine. “We’ll look at enhancing our stability and strengthening our base so that we can be dynamic and agile in the years ahead.”

Geraldine’s first day in her new role is effective Thursday, June 1st. She will be formally introduced to the community at our Annual General Meeting in June. With Geraldine’s previous experience with CCS and in the local community, we look forward to a smooth and quick transition into the role.

We hope you share in our excitement as we warmly welcome and congratulate Geraldine as she transitions into her full-time role as CEO.

The Board wishes to recognize outgoing CEO Monty Laskin for his leadership, commitment and contributions to Caledon Community Services, its staff and clients and wish him the very best in his future endeavours.
