The Town is proposing a minor boundary modification the existing Bolton Special Policy area and amendments to the Official Plan and Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 2006-50, as amended, to reflect the modifications. This statutory public meeting is required by the Province of Ontario.

The proposed changes intend to:

  • Restrict sensitive uses from locating within the floodplain, in accordance with the Provincial Policy Statement, including those uses related to the care of children, the elderly and persons with disabilities; essential emergency services; and, those uses that deal with the handling or storage of hazardous substances.
  • Revise the Special Policy Area boundaries to reflect updated Toronto and Region Conservation Authority floodplain mapping; this entails removing some lands that are in the existing Special Policy Area and adding other lands to the Special Policy Area. These amendments require the approval of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Minister of Natural Resources.
