An Open House and Public Meeting will be held to consider modifications to the Official Plan and the Zoning By-law with regard to the Bolton Special Policy Area. This is your way to offer input and get involved.

What are the Proposed Changes?
The Town is proposing a minor boundary modification the existing Bolton Special Policy area and amendments to the Official Plan and Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 2006-50, as amended, to reflect the modifications. This statutory public meeting is required by the Province of Ontario.
The proposed changes intend to:
- Restrict sensitive uses from locating within the floodplain, in accordance with the Provincial Policy Statement, including those uses related to the care of children, the elderly and persons with disabilities; essential emergency services; and, those uses that deal with the handling or storage of hazardous substances.
- Revise the Special Policy Area boundaries to reflect updated Toronto and Region Conservation Authority floodplain mapping; this entails removing some lands that are in the existing Special Policy Area and adding other lands to the Special Policy Area.These amendments require the approval of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Minister of Natural Resources.
Additional Information :
A formal submission to the Province was made in November 2016, in accordance with Provincial requirements. The proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law amendments have been revised based upon comments received from the Province in June 2017.A copy of the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment and additional information and material about the proposed modification will be available to the public prior to the meeting at the Planning and Development Section, Community Services Department at Town Hall. Office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Appeal Procedure:
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to The Corporation of the Town of Caledon before the By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of The Corporation of the Town of Caledon to the Ontario Municipal Board.If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to The Corporation of the Town of Caledon before the By-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
