Bethell Hospice Foundation Gives Thanks for Strong Community Support

Over 100 supporters of Bethell Hospice Foundation gathered at Devil’s Pulpit Golf Club on October 20 for the Foundation’s annual Giving Thanks event.  Giving Thanks is a special evening to thank the Foundation’s major gift donors, sponsors, community event fundraisers, hike team captains and others who have been instrumental in raising funds in support of Bethell Hospice.

Reflections were shared by Julie Adamo Cass, organizer of the Hockley Valley Resort Fashion Show in support of Bethell Hospice, and by Bhupinder Sanghera, mother of former Bethell Hospice resident, Niki Sanghera.  Bhupinder organized the largest-ever team in support of the Foundation’s annual Hike for Bethell Hospice fundraiser.  Stan Cameron acted as Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

Awards were also presented to two outstanding advocates.  Anne Livingston was the recipient of the Lorna Bethell Legacy Award, presented annually by Bethell Hospice Foundation to an individual, family or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the ongoing development and sustainability of Bethell Hospice.  The Elizabeth Birnie Leadership Award, given annually to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and contribution to the Foundation in promoting and raising funds, was presented to Chris Merkley.

Scotiabank Bolton Branch acted as Gift Matching Partner for the evening, matching the first $5000 of gifts made at the event.

Bethell Hospice is the only residential hospice serving Caledon, Brampton, Dufferin County and West Woodbridge.  Bethell Hospice also provides Community Programs throughout Caledon and Brampton.  For information on Bethell Hospice, and how you can become involved in helping this amazing community resource, please visit
