2015 Budgets Concluding

Budget

The annual property tax bill you receive as a Town of Caledon resident includes taxes due to your Regional Municipality (Peel) and your School Board as well. The Town, in turn, submits those portions on your behalf.

Last week the Peel Regional Council approved its 2015 Budget. The Budget included a 0.8 per cent property tax increase, representing an increase of $33 on the average residential home (assessed at $452,500) and a $58 increase for the average small business (assessed at $534,300). Peel Regional Council also approved a 7.0 per cent increase in utility rates (water/wastewater) representing an increase of $39 for the average household and $98 for the average small business.

Town of Caledon Council is holding its final Budget meeting on Tuesday March 3rd at 1:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 6311 Old Church Road, Caledon East. The approved Budget, when combined with your Regional and School Board increases, will be used in determining your 2015 property taxes.
