Incident Involving Knife Happens in Bolton

On Sunday, January 22, 2018 at approximately 12:05 am, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a residence on Ellwood Drive West in Bolton for a report of a male with a knife.

Police arrived at the residence and learned that the male suspect had already fled on foot with the knife. However, prior to fleeing, the suspect assaulted a male at the residence with the knife causing a minor injury to the victim. Further, when 2 males attended the residence to provide assistance to the homeowners the suspect assaulted one of the males and caused damage to the motor vehicle he arrived in.

The suspect was later apprehended by police and held in police custody for a bail hearing.

As a result, Seyed Amir Hossein YAGHOUBI-ARAGHI, 26, of Richmond Hill was charged with the following offences: Assault with A Weapon, Assault, Fail to Comply with Recognizance, Mischief – Destroys or Damages Property, and Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm.

The accused was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on January 22, 2018 to answer to the charges.

Due to a court imposed publication ban, no further details will be released pertaining to this investigation.
