Farm Fresh in Peel

Sun Setting on Farm Field
Written by Patti Foley

The Region of Peel is home to farms that grow everything from apples to watermelons, and beets to pumpkins.

In fact, farms and markets in Peel have everything from vegetables and fruit, to meats, honey, maple syrup, baked goods, garden supplies, wine and much, much more.

GrownInPeel.ca features 30 farms, retailers and farmers’ markets in Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga.

The site includes a map so you can find all the locations and, one of my personal favourite features, lists of what vegetables and fruits are in season during which months. That way you can really zero your choices in on what is freshest, tastiest and most nutritious.

Take a visit to GrownInPeel.ca and discover the seasonal availability of nearly 50 fruits and vegetables as well as learning about events happening at your local farms and farmers’ markets this season.
