Written by Patti Foley

On Sunday, Dec. 10 2017 at 2 pm Caledon Concert Band presents Dasher and Dancer.

This family-friendly music event uses casual café-style seating and is conveniently located at the Caledon East Community Complex at 6215 Old Church Road in Caledon East.

The program will feature popular holiday music themes for the Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, Suzy Snowflake, Charlie Brown Christmas, Polar Express, Frozen and more.

Free refreshments will be served at the intermission.

It is a Caledon Band winter concert tradition to perform Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride and to conclude with an audience participation sing-along.

Ticket sales and the silent auction held during the concert are important fundraising activities for the Caledon Concert Band Association which is a registered charity.

These fundraising activities offset band expenses such as sheet music, stands and equipment, rehearsal space and insurance as well as providing performance opportunities and scholarships to students pursuing music education at recognized post-secondary institutions.

Musicians, from teens to seniors, who play woodwind, brass or percussion instruments, are welcome to bring their instrument or drumsticks and join the Caledon community band at any rehearsal year round. Rehearsals take place every Wednesday at 7:30 pm at the Caledon East Community Complex.

The Caledon Concert Band will present more Sunday 2 pm matinee concerts at the Caledon East Community Complex in the New Year. March 4, 2018: Oscar Night Soundtrack Celebration and on May 27, 2018: Music Inspired by Classic Myths and Legends.

Children 12 years and under are admitted FREE with an Adult ($15) or Senior/Student ($10).
Tickets sold at the door or online at www.caledonconcertband.ca
